Welcome!

This blog has been created for the participants in the July 2008 Science Education Week at Klangerlussuaq and Summit Camp in Greenland.

Here in cyberspace, we can get to meet each other, and learn a little bit about one another before we arrive in Kangerlussuaq. Please introduce yourself, tell us a little about yourself - your hobbies, family, pets, favorite music or food, why you are excited to be part of this experience, what you hope to gain from our trip - anything you'd like us to know!

The blog will be open, but we may change it once we have all the participant contact information.

Hi! My name is Kathy Gorski, and I am an Einstein Fellow representing the U.S. on this trip. An Einstein Fellow is a K-12 teacher of Math or Science (I'm a science teacher) that has been awarded a year's Fellowship in Washington, DC. I am from Massachusetts (in New England, the northern, upper right portion of the U.S.), where I have been teaching middle grade sciences for about 10 years. I have had other careers in biochemical research and the analytical chemistry instrumentation industry before I went back to teaching.

I'm looking forward to working with everyone, and learning about new places and cultures. I already know your English is much better than my Danish, but I am hoping you will help me learn at least a few words while we share so much together!

Personally, I am an email geek, and love to talk in cyberspace, so I know I will add more later! But I want to get this up and running quickly because we will meet in the real world very, very soon.
